Drs. You, Bogucki, and Jensen are your local CEREC® dentists for single-visit tooth restorations. In the past, the crown experience for a patient was tedious and uncomfortable. Patients would have to endure multiple impression with impression material that started as goop and then would set after several seconds of sitting in the patient’s mouth. And then on top of these uncomfortable impressions, patients would leave with a temporary crown in their mouths, not their permanent crowns. They would have to return 3-4 weeks later to receive their permanent crown, all the while having a temporary crown that could come out at any moment. Now with CEREC, we can offer our patients crowns completed all in one day! No more goop, no more temporary crowns, no more multiple trips to the dental office. You will walk out of our office with a crown the same day.
CEREC is a technology for restoring damaged teeth, and this restoration can be completed in a single visit at Lumos Dental. It makes your teeth stronger and more beautiful — all while keeping your teeth looking natural. The restoration is metal-free and the high-grade ceramic material is compatible with the natural tissue found in your mouth.
First, your doctor will meet with you to discuss the details of the procedure. During the procedure, the your teeth and mouth will be scanned using our omnicam instead of traditional impression material. No more goop in your mouth! Using Computer Aided Design, the scan serves as a “map” to design your tooth’s restoration. After you new tooth is designed by our CEREC experts, our in-house milling units will use a diamond burs to create your restoration piece out of ceramic right in our office. Finally, the ceramic restoration is bonded to your tooth using state-of-the-art adhesive dentistry.
